Product Description

Scotty #389-BK is a black #279 Baitcaster/Spinning Rod Holder with a #449 Clamp Mount for complete portability. The rod holder holds a baitcaster reel in a cushioned cradle. A slot in the front of the rod holder allows for a spinning reel to be securely held in place. The rod holder design has a side mounted flange, which leaves the bottom open, allowing the rod holder to accommodate trigger grips. Pistol-grip rod butts easily clear the sides of the rod holder for quick rod retrieval. Rod can be secured in the holder with the soft latching strap which snaps over the top.

The mount fits a kayak cockpit rim and even will mount at the curve in he front. This rod holder has been great even when big fish wanna move the kayak. I'm gonna buy two more. The mount is not exactly like the picture. It has a thicker profile. It still mounts with the same shape. It is just thicker/bigger than the current picture.

I have 2 of these for use in my Old Town Canoe. We used them on the last trip out and everything they advertise is true. Very solid and sturdy. Easy to retrieve rods quickly. Quick to put on and take off. Rust prof hardware. I love them and I am already adding more of their products to my canoe.
